How to Find the List of ICAZ Accredited Training Offices (ATOs)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) is responsible for accrediting training offices that meet the standards for training aspiring Chartered Accountants (CA(Z)). These organizations are known as Accredited Training Offices (ATOs), and they are authorized to enter into training contracts with prospective trainees.

The list of ATOs is reviewed and updated periodically by ICAZ to ensure that only qualifying institutions remain accredited. This is particularly important for students beginning their training contracts, transferring to other employers, or validating the legitimacy of a training offer.

Visit the official ICAZ website at www.icaz.org.zw.

Look for a subsection titled “Accredited Training Offices”. This section typically contains background information and a downloadable document.

What’s Included in the List?

The ATO list includes:

Name of the Accredited Organisation
Training Type – Either TIPP (Training Inside Public Practice) or TOPP (Training Outside Public Practice)
Location – City/town where the organization operates, e.g., Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare
Contact Details – Phone numbers, physical address, and email (if applicable)

How is the List Used?

Prospective Trainees: Use the list to identify eligible training organizations where you can begin your articles. Ensure you approach only ICAZ-recognized ATOs.
Students Requesting Transfers: You must confirm that the receiving company is also an accredited ATO.
Employers: The list validates whether your institution is eligible to train CA(Z) candidates. If not, you must first apply for ATO status through ICAZ.

Note: Only students registered with ICAZ and under a valid training contract with an approved ATO can count their training period toward the Chartered Accountancy qualification. Working at a non-accredited institution will not be recognized, even if the work is related to accounting or audit.
